How it works · Pricing

Sessions, programmes
& pricing

All tuition starts with a free 30–45 minute consultation, no charge, no commitment. Sessions are online via video call, priced by level, and discounted for regular weekly or fortnightly bookings. Every programme is built specifically for you after the initial call.

There is no one-size-fits-all programme. A student preparing for an A Level exam needs something completely different from a PhD student working through an identification strategy. The consultation is where that gets worked out.

The process

How it works,
step by step

1

Free initial consultation, 30–45 minutes

A video call to understand where you are, what you're working towards, your exam board if relevant, and how you learn best. I ask diagnostic questions. At the end I propose a plan, topics, session frequency, likely duration. No charge. No commitment to continue.

2

Agree a plan and schedule sessions

If the consultation goes well and you'd like to proceed, we agree the session plan and schedule. Regular sessions (weekly or fortnightly) get a discounted rate. Ad hoc single sessions are also possible for specific needs.

3

Sessions via video call with shared whiteboard

Each session is conducted on Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet, your choice, with a shared digital whiteboard for working through mathematics, proofs, and code. This format is excellent for quantitative subjects. Sessions can be recorded if both parties agree.

4

Adjust at any point

There is no minimum commitment. If you need to pause, change frequency, or shift topics entirely, that is always fine. The programme adapts to your schedule and to what is working.

Questions

Pricing & sessions FAQ

No minimum. Some students book one session to get unstuck on a specific topic. Others book a full-year programme. The consultation establishes what makes sense for your situation, there's no pressure in either direction.

Small group sessions (2–3 students at the same level) can be arranged and are more cost-effective per student. Please mention this in the initial consultation and we can discuss whether the format would work for the material.

48 hours' notice is requested for cancellations. This allows sessions to be rescheduled rather than lost. Life gets in the way, this is handled pragmatically, not rigidly.

Bank transfer. An invoice or confirmation is provided per session or block of sessions, whichever you prefer.
